Under Schedule 1 of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act 1997, the following animals are listed as furbearing mammals

  • American Badger

  • Beaver

  • Bobcat

  • Coyote

  • Fisher

  • Arctic Fox, Grey Fox, Red Fox

  • Lynx 

  • Marten

  • Mink

  • Muskrat

  • Opposum

  • Otter

  • Raccoon

  • Striped Skunk

  • Least Weasel

  • Short-Tailed Weasel (Ermine)

  • Wolf

    * Although the Black Bear is not considered a furbearing mammal, it may be trapped in Ontario in accordance with the regulations.
